HAPPY 50TH ANNIVERSARY TO RTOERO DISTRICT 39 (Peel)
When I became historian/archivist in 2006, I was handed several photo albums – the kind with the sticky pages. Over the years I have scanned these photos and, of course, added new ones and then made a slide show of all. We now have a pretty good record of our first 50 years. In 1968, RTO created new districts throughout the province. We were part of the Dufferin, Peel, Malton & Simcoe district. Then in 1973, Peel and Halton were one combined district. In the fall of 1986, Peel became District 39 with its own executive. A bit of history and photos from these early years is included in the slide show. The link below will take you to the 50-minute show. By clicking on the three vertical dots in the upper right, you will be able to view it in “slideshow” mode. If you wish to view at a quicker pace, icons on the lower left with help you do that.
